Ian Gill

Award winning metal sculptor, has been creating contemporary works of art for over a decade.

Born 1966 he studied at Hereford College of art and design.

The mediums in which he works are metal, wood and stone.

Using a combination of traditional blacksmithing and modern industrial techniques, working hot heavy gauge material that can be forged, Ian creates a conceptual reality in steel.

Ian’s inspiration comes from natural organic forms combined with an industrial twist.

He has earned himself certificates of merit from the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths.

He feels that in gaining a full understanding of hot metal, and of traditional blacksmithing techniques, it has enabled him to create the work he produces today.

In 2010 Ian created a selection of sculptures commissioned for the new Dorchester Hotels project in Berkshire, Coworth Park Hotel.

Grand designs also commissioned a large piece for their show garden, at the 2010 Grand Designs Live. at the NEC.

He has exhibited widely and his work is held extensively in collections throughout the UK and Europe.

His work can also be viewed at this year's "Chelsea Flower Show" & "Animal Art Fair on the South Bank" as well as other exhibitions throughout the UK.
